This tower is located on historic Belle Isle on the shore of the Detroit River. The tower was built in 1930 as a memorial to William Livingstone. Livingstone was the president of the Lake Carriers' Association from 1902 to 1925. The tower stands 58 feet tall and serves as both a memorial and navigation aid to ships on the Detroit River.
