The Museo de la Ciencia y el Cosmos (Museum of Science and the Cosmos) was opened in 1993 in the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna under the initiative of the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife (the Islands Council) and the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC). It is considered one of the most important museums of science and astronomy of Spain.
The MCC is primarily a participatory museum, where the visitor has the opportunity to explore and experience himself the laws and principles of nature from the human body to the stars. Among its many attractions is a Planetarium and an "Interstellar Travel" with holograms.
