This is part of the Gaffer District. Centennial park is next to the Market Street Historic District and Corning, Inc Headquarters. The park is used as an event venue in the promotion of the area as a tourist spot.
The events are promoted rather than the features of the park which include a large fountain, walkways, a pedestrian bridge and the pergola. The shops on Market Street are the target for the promotions.
From the Pergola you can see a well designed park, an arch bridge across the Chemung River, the side of Corning, Inc. Headquarters and a tree line brick walkway toward Marker Street.
