"This is on the corner of Sileby Road and Market Place.

When houses were demolished on the site it became an open space owned by Charnwood Borough Council.

The Parish Council bought the land in July 1994 and it was decided to rename it THE PEACE GARDEN and dedicate it to 50 years of peace in England and the Parish Council’s Centenary.

The War Memorial is on top of Castle Hill and it has become very difficult for senior citizens to visit it. It is intended Peace Garden in Springthat The Peace Garden will have a Memorial Stone and an area for poppies to be placed on Remembrance Day. It is hoped that it will become a pleasant place in which to sit and relax.

Charnwood Borough Council provided funds for gates and railings and regraded the footpaths. The Parish Council has purchased seats and a litter bin and is to erect the Memorial Stone. Further improvements will be made in time."
