Tenerife is an island off the western coast of Africa and on occasion can be quite windy.
The sculpture is sited near to some benches on the promenade at Punta del Viento, popular spot where people like to gaze out over the Atlantic Ocean.
The statue joins in with this activity, and as the spot is windy its hair is being blown backwards.
