Tenerife is volcanic island of the coast of Africa. It's northern coast line has few beaches and this large complex of outdoor swimming pools provides an alternative.
It was built in the 1970s together with a number of sculptures. Most are inside the complex and can only be seen if you pay the entrance fee to get into the pools.

This sculpture however is at the entrance and can be seen from the promenade that runs next to the pools.
The sculpture consists of a number of cones standing on a large tree trunk. The cones have replaced the top of the tree and catch the wind causing them to rotate. The cones are different sizes and as they rotate some of them touch each other producing a tinkling sound.
