Along the east side of Highway 124 in Wellington is a small park like area in which one will find a caboose and this CN orange Fairmont Speeder.

This speeder was manufactured by Fairmont Railway Motors Ltd. in Toronto, ON. It is belt driven and has a single cylinder, water cooled engine of approx. 6-8 hp. There is no readable name plate, so the model is unknown. It's likely one of the M9 series, though. This looks like an early one, though, as the body is all wood, whereas later Fairmonts had a lot more steel in the body. Open cabbed, this one likely never spent any time on the prairies.
