In the Spa Park in Duszniki Zdrój, one of the key sites of the cult of Fryderyk Chopin in Poland, there remains much to remind visitors of his stay, including the mansion named Chopin House, an obelisk, a monument and the Pieniawa Chopina mineral water intake. The over-life size bronze statue of Fryderyk Chopin in the Duszniki Zdroj Spa Park in front of Fryderyk Chopin’s manor-house with a concert hall was made by the Warsaw sculptor Jan Kucz. It expresses the formidable, revolutionary side of his personality, an aspect one does not normally associate with the refined salons of Paris and 'pieces for schoolgirls' as one misguided contemporary English critic expressed his ignorance. It was erected and unveiled on 8 August 1976.

Fryderyk Chopin, who gave his first public concert abroad here, came to have a therapy in this place in the summer of 1826 not accidentally. On completing his final year at the Warsaw Lyceum, he went with his mother on a journey to the 'Silesian waters' for a cure, joining there Ludwika Skarbek and Emilka Chopin. The previous month, Ludwika Chopin had stayed at Duszniki Kudowa with Count Fryderyk Skarbek, his wife Prakseda, and their little son Józef. Duszniki Zdrój is now one of the most important places of the cult of Fryderyk Chopin in Poland and, to this day, in the Health Resort Park there are many places reminding of Chopin’s former stay in the health resort, e.g. F. Chopin’s manor-house, obelisk, monuments and "Chopin's Pieniawa". In Chopin’s Manor-House the Chopin International Festival has been taking place for over 60 years. It is the oldest, uninterrupted piano festival in the world, and also the oldest music festival in Poland. Chopin’s Manor-House is a place where, for many generations, world class artists, Chopin music fans and piano music fans get together.
