Monument is situated in a small park above I95 expressway in Philadelphia, right next to the Irish Memorial. The monument was dedicated on October 8, 2011, and depicts a Scottish family and their deerhound as they stepped onto land at Penn's Landing. On arrival they were helped by the St. Andrew Society, who was formed to assist immigrants when they came to the United States. The statute rests on top of an eighteen ton granite base. On either side of the base are plaques devoted to the St. Andrew Society.
