The first Japanese garden in Switzerland, situated on the Höheweg next to the Hotel Interlaken is a symbol of friendship (established in 1978) between the sister cities of Interlaken and Otsu in Japan. It was designed in 1995 by a landscape gardener from Otsu and erected according to the rituals of the Japanese horticultural society.

Le premier jardin japonais de la Suisse est situé au Höheweg, à coté de l'hôtel Interlaken. Ce jardin est un symbole d'amitié (établi a 1978) entre les villes affiliées d'Interlaken et d'Otsu au Japon. Le jardin a été créé 1995 par un architecte paysagiste d'Otsu selon la tradition de l'art de l'horticulture japonaise.

Interlaken verschwesterte sich 1978 mit der japanischen Stadt Otsu. Als Zeichen dieser Freundschaft und Verbundenheit wurde neben dem Hotel Interlaken in 1995 ein japanischer Garten mit Teichanlage und Pavillon gestaltet.
