Durch diese Brücke wurde eine Lücke im Ahr-Radweg geschlossen.
Radfahrer und Fussgänger nutzen diese Brücke um die Ahr zu überqueren ohne die im Sommer viel befahrene Bundesstrasse B267 nutzen zu müssen.
Der 17 Meter hohe Pylon der Brücke soll durch seine Form symbolisch ein "A" für Ahr darstellen.
