EN: The mill of Maisprach originated at the river in the south of the village and soon became the center of a small hamlet outside of the historic village center. The oldest dated components of today's mill were built in 1637. The main building and the various outbuildings were extended and rebuilt several times over the centuries. However, the late Gothic origin is still clearly recognizable.
The mill of Maisprach is one of the last traditional village mills in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, which is still in operation, although is not based on hydropower anymore today.
DE: Die Mühle von Maisprach entstand am Bach im Süden des Dorfes und entwickelte sich zum Zentrum eines kleinen Weilers etwas ausserhalb des historischen Dorfkerns. Die ältesten datierten Bestandteile der heutigen Mühle stammen aus dem Jahr 1637. Das Hauptgebäude und die verschiedenen Nebenbauten wurden über die Jahrhunderte mehrfach erweitert und umgebaut. Der spätgotische Ursprung ist aber noch klar erkennbar.
Die Mühle von Maisprach ist eine der letzten traditionellen Dorfmühlen im Kanton Basel-Landschaft, die noch im Betrieb ist, auch wenn für den Betrieb heute nicht mehr Wasserkraft verwendet wird.
