On an old postcard from mid-twentieth century can be seen on the wall of the church in Old Avereest has been a sundial.
That is probably because it was an old sundial in the wall were still hand-forged nails for suspension.
In 1981 by Gerrit Sasbrink, in consultation with the church council, installed a new wooden sundial in the same place.
In 2006 is the painting taken in hand and see the sundial again like new.
The sundial plane departs approximately 8 degrees south towards the east.
