In Wells, within Wells Reserve, is this sign at the end of a boardwalk for a red maple tree.

The Wells Reserve is along the coast and is part of the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve. To get there, from U.S. Route 1, find Landholm Farm Road and go east, following signs to the driveway and parking lot for the reserve. Once you walk to the visitor center and pay the admission fee, get a map and walk generally north to a boardwalk. At the south end of the boardwalk, on the left, is a sign for a red maple, which is next to the sign.

The sign has a leaf, the name of the tree, the Latin name, and a description of the tree and its benefit to the forests.
