In Bath, within the Maine Maritime Museum, is an exhibit of marine exhibits that includes this ship model of the 'Snow Squall,' one of the last clipper ships to sail and portions of which are on display at the museum.

The display is within the main exhibit building in the museum. It is located with other maritime displays, including other ship models.

The ship is encased in glass. It is a wooden model with exquisite details. It is a three-masted square rigged ship. No sails are on display, but you can see the rigging. Also striking about this model is the multi-colored wood in the hull below waterline.

The 'Snow Squall' was built in 1851 around Portland Maine. It made trips around the world making trades. Unfortunately, in 1864, it was heavily damaged while trying to round the southern end of South America and was scuttled at Falkland Island. In 1987, portions, including part of the bow, were brought back to the U.S. and are now on display at the Maine Maritime Museum. This model provides a view when it was a whole ship.
