Général Guillaume-Henri Dufour - Equestrian Statues on Waymarking.com

General Dufour is credited with creating the present swiss flag, a white cross on a red background. He was also honored for his contribution to Swiss cartography by having the highest point in Switzerland named after him (altitude 4634 meters on the top of Mount Rosa).

He was also co-founder of what is now the International Comittee of the Red Cross.
