In Winter Harbor, within the Schoodic Point portion of the Acadia National Park, is this weather station.
To get to the station, from U.S. Route 1, look for signs to Winter harbor, and go south on Maine Route 186. Follow this road through the center of Winter Harbor and to the entrance to Acadia National Park. Follow the park road to the entrance to the Schoodic Education Research Center (SERC). From there, public parking is available at the Rockerfeller Hall. Consult maps to get to Moore Auditorium - the station is located in a building to the northwest.
The station is on a mast of this building. Visible are an anemometer and wind vane. Measurements are reported on Weather Underground as station MD2258. There is also a web camera that is part of the Haze Cam/Camnet network. It is pointed toward Mt. Desert Island, which is the central part of Acadia National Park. Unfortunately, there was heavy fog, preventing view of the island.
The coordinates are located on a walking path that has a view of the station, as the area is not accessible.
