Vincent van Gogh lived, wrote and painted in September 1883 in Hollandscheveld.

He painted on September 15, 1883 the cemetery, with the tower of the church in the background and made a drawing of one of his letters.
That letter and drawing are preserved. meanwhile Vincent van Gogh is a weird, redhead, strange guy just people asked if he could paint them, turned into one of the most famous Dutch who has ever lived.
Vincent gave a beautiful description of the cemetery and praised the scent and color of the heather on the graves. Vincent's drawing is one of the oldest images of anything from the Hollandscheveld.

The memorial reads:

"On this placed worked Vincent van Gogh on September 15, 1883"
