The Creve Coeur Lake Streetcar Power Substation was built around 1900 to shelter the power substation for the Creve Coeur Lake Streetcar Line. The Line started at Delmar and Kingsland. People took the street car to the lake to escape the summer heat. The streetcar line was shut down in 1950 when the roads to the county were improved.
