The brewery was built in 1953 by the Sick family as the Capilano Brewery. In 1958, Molson took over the brewery and added the Sick family brands to their lineup, including Old Style Pilsner. In 2005, Molson merged with Coors to form Molson Coors Brewing Company and the Vancouver brewery began brewing additional brands such as Coors Light and Keystone Light. A $32-million renovation in 2008 added seven new fermentation tanks and a bottling line from their recently-closed Edmonton brewery. However, just six years later, the bottling line was shut down due to a decrease in market share. Today, the three-hectare facility only fills kegs and cans.
