Located in the southwest entrance to the Memorial Union Building is a wood carving of Benny Beaver, Oregon State's mascot. Benny gives a tip of his cap to visitors of Memorial Union and stands tall over most folks walking him. The carving was a gift to Memorial Union and the students at Oregon State University by the Class of 1966 and carved by Floyd L. Davis and is made of coastal redwood.
