Several dozen wells were drilled in the area to extract coal.
Today there are only few remains of these wells, including the La La Rouxière Gautellerie.
Chimneys used to evacuate the gases produced by the machines vapors necessary for the operation of the well.
More profitable enough, that deep well of 220 meters, was closed in 1911.

Plusieurs dizaines de puits ont été creusés dans la région pour extraire du charbon.
Aujourd’hui il ne reste que quelques vestiges de ces puits, dont celui de La Gautellerie à La Rouxière.
Les cheminées servaient à évacuer les fumées produites par les machines à vapeurs nécessaires au fonctionnement du puits.
Plus assez rentable, ce puits profond de 220 mètres, a été fermé en 1911.
