This cairn is at the trail that leads over Simplon Pass a few kilometers east of the main road. The cairn location is a few minutes hiking south of the old hospice at summit of the pass road.
It is something above one meter high. One of the top slates has red paint as a marker for the hiking trail. The official signage for alpine trails of medium difficulty would be white-red-white, but you could imagine the uncolored stone background as the white parts.
