The area of Niecka Nidzianska was flooded by shallow and warm sea during the Miocene age. This was a good prerequisite for sedimentation processes, which formed thick layer of gypsum and limestone, together with marl, lome and sands.

Gypsum is relatively easily solvable in water (1.9 g/l, compared with 0.014 g/l for limestone) so it easily forms karst landscape. In the Niecka Nidzianska region, you'll find a lot of gypsum caves, cavities and underground springs.

The area can be reached on foot or by bike. Motor vehicles are forbidden.
