One of the stages of manufacture of the hooves, the blank or hewn with an ax the shoemaker, with curved blade tool, short handle ending with a magnifying glass timber for laying the tool on hip at work. This tool existed in right or left handed option. Today, following a model installed in the machine is the tailleuse who sided the shoe in half. This tailleuse is a sort of copying lathe.
The machine presented here can work one shoe at a time

Une des étapes de la fabrication des sabots, l'ébauche ou dégrossi à la hache du sabotier, outil à lame recourbée, à manche court terminé par une loupe de bois permettant de poser l'outil sur la hanche lors du travail. Cet outil existait en option droitier ou gaucher. Aujourd'hui, suivant un modèle installé dans la machine, c'est la tailleuse qui dégrossi le sabot par deux. Cette tailleuse est une sorte de tour à copier.
La machine présenté ici ne permet de travailler un seul sabot à la fois.
