Cet outil existait en option droitier ou gaucher. Aujourd'hui, suivant un modèle installé dans la machine, c'est la tailleuse qui dégrossi le sabot par deux. Cette tailleuse est une sorte de tour à copier.
La machine présenté ici ne permet de travailler un seul sabot à la fois.
