The courtyart of Habsburg Castle features a huge compass rose with directions and distances to all territories ever belonging to the House of Habsburg.

EN: In the courtyard of Habsburg Castle is a large compass rose. It has a diameter of about eight meters. In the center is an illustration of the castle, at the edges are direction and distance arrows to all countries and territories that had once belonged to the empire of the Habsburgs.
Of course, these areas were never ruled by this castle. The Eigenamt with the ancestral seat of Habsburg was in 1415 one of the first areas the Habsburg had lost, long before the house unfolded its greatest power in the 16th and 17th centuries.
DE: Im Innenhof von Schloss Habsburg befindet sich eine grosse Kompassrose. Sie hat einen Durchmesser von etwa acht Metern. Im Zentrum befindet sich eine Darstellung des Schlosses, an den Rändern sind Richtungspfeile und Entfernungsangaben zu allen Ländern und Territorien, die einmal zum Imperium der Habsburger gehört hatten.
Natürlich wurden diese Gebiete nie von diesem Schloss aus regiert. Das Eigenamt um Habsburg mit dem Stammsitz war 1415 eines der ersten Gebiete die Habsburg wieder verloren hatte, lange bevor das Haus im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert seine grösste Macht entfaltete.
