"This family hotel is located within the Alhambra monument, around one hundred yards far from the world famous Court of the Lions (Patio de los Leones in Spanish) and from the main accesses to the monument. This wonderful location will enable you to enjoy the Alhambra’s calm. It is no far from the Granada’s down town and from other interesting monuments such as the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel.
Our building was built at the beginning of the 19th century as a Summer residence. It is pointed to the South and its court-garden produces an ideal temperature during the Summer time. The dining-room and wooden stairs still remain as they were at this old house. This building belongs to the Garzon’s family since 1936. At that time, Mr. Nicolas Garzon bought this house to become independent and he founded the America Hotel. The name of America is due to the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929 held in Seville.
This hotel is composed by two buildings separated by a very beautiful court-garden, composed by dense plants and happy fountains where you can enjoy homemade cuisine and good Spanish wines in a typical Granada’s environment.
Some rooms are pointed to this court-garden and some ones to the Real de la Alhambra Street, which offer a view to the Dryland Gardens and Sierra Nevada Mountains. Anyway, you will enjoy an enviable calm when the Alhambra closes for the general visitors.
