Large fountain located on the northeast corner of Queeen's Square in front of the PEI provincial Legislature off Grafton Street.
The fountain features a large bronze hand holding a torch atop a concrete and pebble waterfall area.
There are bronze maple leafs attached to the sides.
The dedication marker reads:
The PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND MEMORIAL FOUNTAIN
Dedicated 18 September, 2005
Honouring Prince Edward Islanders who have
Volunteered to serve their country and community
In dangerous professions as Armed Forces members,
Police, Peace Officers and Firefighters.
Their willingness to sacrifice in the service of
Country and community in the service of peace and
Freedom, is acknowledged through this memorial.
Those who paid the supreme sacrifice will not be
Forgotten.
Such service and sacrifice in our past, continuing
In the present, and vital to the security of our
Future, is represented by the proffering of the
Torch.
