Marker pays homage to those who served in the Lunenburg Regiment, from its beginnings in 1870 through WWI, and up to its amalgamation into the West Nova Scotia Regiment in 1936.
The Lunenburg Regiment was organised as a militia regiment in 1870. During the Great War it was renamed the 75th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force.
The Regiment saw service throughout the war, earning Battle Honours for its actions at Arras 1917-18, Hill 70, Pursuit to Mons, Ypres 1917, Amiens and the Hindenburg Line.
At the top of the Monument is the crest of the Lunenburg Regiment.
