In Barre, at Hope Cemetery, is this marker for the Parnigoni, Dunn, and Jones families, which features a cello carved in the one piece slab of granite.

The cemetery is located just outside of the city, along VT Route 14 on the west side. The marker is near the southern end of the cemetery, along a road that is making its way up a sloping hill.

The marker is a large monument apparently intended for three families. I can't quite call it a grave site, yet, as there are no years of death showing. The center name, Parnigoni, has two names, Ronald Lynn "Ronnie" and Mary Anne LeRoy, each with years '1943' representing the birth year. From what I have seen, they likely are related to the Parnigoni Brothers Granite, Inc. a distributor of granite products. Barre has one of the largest quarries in the country, and having a granite business, it is reasonable to think that they might have a large granite monument. I'm not sure how the cello fits - perhaps one or more of them are or were musicians. Or, perhaps when they were together they always made sweet music.

As you can see with the other Waymarks in this cemetery, there are many some times very ornate monuments here. It is well worth a stop to look.
