EN: The Hercules Fountain is a hexagonal stone fountain with a square ornate fountain column with by a Hercules statue atop.
The forerunner of the Hercules Fountain was first mentioned already in 1566, it was then outside the city gate and was used for watering horses.
The stone basin and the statue of Hercules was probably created in 1732, this year is also engraved into the basin.
Since 1885, the fountain stands at the crossroads Rennweg / Bahnhofstrasse.
DE: Der Herkulesbrunnen ist ein sechseckiger Steinbrunnen mit einer quadratischen verzierten Brunnensäule, worauf eine Herkulesstatue steht.
Der Vorläufer des Herkulesbrunnen wurde schon 1566 erstmals erwähnt, er stand damals ausserhalb der Stadttors und wurde zum Tränken der Pferde verwendet.
Der Steintrog und die Herkulesstatue erhielt er vermutlich bei einem Neubau 1732, dieses Jahr ist auch in den Trog eingraviert.
Seit 1885 steht der Brunnen an der Kreuzung Rennweg/Bahnhofstrasse.
