The old well of Waldenburg castle is located in the eastern part of the ruin, close to the donjon.

EN: The ruins of Waldenburg is located on a rock east of the gorge, where the town of Waldenburg lies. The castle was built around 1200 and destroyed in 1798. In the 1930s it was re-excavated and restored.
The well is located in the eastern part of the ruins. The fountain rim is about one meter high and secured with an iron gate, the shaft is still about five to six meters deep and dry. The original depth is unknown, however, it must not have been much deeper, since from this elevated rock the ground water was out of reach and the well was charged with collected rain water through sand-filled filter chambers.
DE: Die Ruine Waldenburg befindet sich auf einem Felsen östlich der Talenge, worin das Städtchen Waldenburg liegt. Die Burg wurde um 1200 erbaut und 1798 zerstört. In den 1930er Jahren wurde sie wieder ausgegraben und restauriert.
Der Brunnen befindet sich im östlichen Teil der Ruine. Der Brunnenkranz ist knapp einen Meter hoch und mit einem Eisengitter gesichert, der Schacht ist heute noch etwa fünf bis sechs Meter tief und ohne Wasser. Die ursprüngliche Tiefe ist nicht bekannt, sie dürfte allerdings nicht viel tiefer gewesen sein, da von diesem erhöhten Felsen aus das Grundwasser nicht zu erreichen war und der Brunnen über sandgefüllte Filterkammern mit gesammeltem Regenwasser gespeist wurde.
