The statue is a work of the Cuban artist José Ramón Villa and is entitled "Imagine all the people living life in peace".

The sculpture was unveiled in 2011, in the same quarter where in 1966 Costa Ricans protested against John Lennon's statement that the Beatles were "more popular than Jesus"
