(eng)Founded June 6th, 1909 by Leroux master architect and mayor of Loches , the Dairy cooperative of Lochoise Region brought together 264 members in its infancy for 1200 cows . This creation is part of the great movement initiated in Charente ( Chaillé creation of the union in 1888 ) as a result of the phylloxera crisis .
Many local elected officials and agricultural mobilize to the project with technical support from a fundamental JB MARTIN professor of agriculture DORNIC Tours and founder of Surgères dairy school .
Its construction near the Verneuil Station and along the National is a practical choice vis-à -vis transport issues ( coal inputs , shipping products , milk collection ... ) , the dairy has not moved.
(fr) Fondée le 6 juin 1909 par maître Leroux maire de Loches et architecte, la Coopérative Laitière de la Région Lochoise a réuni à ses débuts 264 adhérents pour 1200 Vaches. Cette création s’inscrit dans le grand mouvement initié en Charente (création de la coopérative de Chaillé en 1888) à la suite de la crise du phylloxéra.
Bon nombre d’élus locaux et de responsables agricoles se mobilisent pour ce projet avec un appui technique fondamental de JB MARTIN professeur en agriculture à Tours et DORNIC fondateur de l’école de laiterie de Surgères.
Sa construction à proximité de la gare de Verneuil et le long de la nationale est un choix pratique vis-à-vis des problématiques de transport (apports de charbon, expédition de produits, collecte du lait…), la laiterie n’a toujours pas changé de place.
