Kanga Kayaks is situated above the Kangaroo River with a cement pathway leading down to the river. It is about 15 metres vertical down to the river & once on the bank, you have three options. You can paddle down stream to Bendella a large camping/picnic area, go upstream over a causeway to a large shallow impoundment or paddle around in the pool under the bridge.
The downstream journey will take you about 2 to 3 hours & there are several sets of rapids. The river has been dammed at its junction with the Shoalhaven River so much of the trip is along deep pools. You may see water dragons (lizards), birds, wallabies & platypus. You can either paddle back, use your own vehicle or the company's vehicle to get back.
The company provides PFDs & gives you a briefing. You need to bring a rashie, hat, sunscreen & snacks.
You don't need to stay at the tourist park to hire the kayaks etc.

Hampden Bridge to Bendeela, 2 hours, from $35 for a single kayak to $80 for a family canoe.
Hampden Bridge to Bendeela Explorer, 3 hours, from $40 for a single kayak, $80 for a family canoe.
Kayak Under the Bridge, 1 hour +, $20 per hour per seat.
There is no deposit required.
