Aviary in Flower Garden/Ptácnice v Kvetné zahrade - Kromeríž, Czech Republic - Aviaries on Waymarking.com

A magnificent French park and a technicolor natural pride of the town of Kromeríž. We are talking about a sight enlisted in the list of the UNESCO world heritage – about the Flower Garden. The garden represents a unique type of a baroque garden from the 17th century, the only of its kind within Europe. Its renovation thus was an enormous challenge which needed to be approached and treated with sensitivety and with respect to the uniqueness of the sight. The garden is comprised of two symmetrical units called Kvetnice and Štepnice, and other independent places of the garden such as so called Aviary, Rabbit Hill, Honorary Yard, the Dutch Garden and the Orange Garden with freely standing orange trees in wooden barrels.
Just the building of Aviary intended for breeding rare birds is the only surviving original building in east part of the Flower garden and after renovation in 2014 has been recently opened. The aviary' facades were enlivened with stucco decoration and the stones from the surroundings were used to brick up a new pool with a baroque shape.
