Cook Park is 4.5 hectares of parkland in the main street of Orange, a large city in the central west of New South Wales. The site of Cook Park was proclaimed in 1873 & named Cook Park in 1882 in honour of Captain James Cook.

The Big Tree is listed on the Park's Heritage Walk phamplet which gives its age but no other information.
