No longer a need for a Ferry Across the Mersey as there are several bridges across the Mersey, two in Liverpool. This is certainly the one which sees the majority of traffic into Liverpool, while the next bridge up river, on Highway 103, sees the most traffic overall, as it bypasses the town.
This two lane bridge is about 250 feet in length overall, with the arch section being about half of that, with steel girder approaches at each end.
