For several hundred years, Nordkapp, the North Cape, has attracted people from every corner of the globe. The globe monument erected in 1978 has become the actual symbol for the North Cape.
At present, Nordkapphall (North Cape Hall) is firmly ensconced on the massive cliff, 307 m above sea level, and marks the northernmost tip of Europe, representing the final frontier with the arctic sea.
The midnight sun may be enjoyed 14 May–29 July, unless it is a cloudy night. Inside the tourist center is a timeline relating a 24-hour period of time during a summer day. The sun will never go down.
