Museum The 5000 Tomorrow's cultural history museum of Hoogeveen . The museum is named after the first peat company, the General Company of 5000 Tomorrow, founded in 1631 in Zwartsluis .

The museum began in April 1971 as Veenmuseum on the top floor of the men's building on Main Street 64. In October 1976 it moved to the building where it is, 't Huis Venendal on Main Street 9, a mansion whose construction core out 1647 dates, now under the name Regional Museum. In the nineties, the name was changed to Museum De 5000 Morgen. In 2001 the building was extensively renovated with two new wings. Also, the entire device on the shovel gone.

In the museum, known as High as Veners The Veenmuseum, the history of Hoogeveen to life.
