Milka is a world-famous chocolate brand, just as well known is its iconic symbol: the lilac cow - even this special shade of lilac in general, that is legally protected.
The brand was founded in 1901, owned by the Swiss company Jacobs Suchard; in 1990 it was taken over by Kraft Foods (today Mondelez International).
The facility in Lörrach is still the main production site for Milka chocolate. The output is about 140,000 tons per year.
