Hameldown trig pillar sits at an elevation of 1,727 Ft above sea level and ranking 4th highest on Dartmoor. Easily achieved as is located on open moorland with roiads and parking nearby. Nearby site of interest to visit is the well preserved Bronze age village of Grimspound whic sits between Hameldon and Hookney tors. Also to the south and to the East are a large number of burial mounds.
