Easdon Tor - a corruption of East Down is one of the last large rough downlands on the Eastern edge of Dartmoor. This trig sits at an elevation of 1,426 ft above sea level and ranks 13th highest of Dartmoor's trigs. Public access is permitted via a number of footpaths. Once on the Tor there are commandings views to the East and on a clear day the to the North North East Exmoor can be just made out on the distant horizon. Of late the Down has not been managed too well with minimal grazing by Ponies and Sheep(Some may argue this is good) which has unfortunately allowed large areas of Gorse and Bracken to take over the majority of the Down making walking in the Summer difficult unless keeping to not to well definded tracks.
Type of Trigpoint: Triangulation Pillar
