Edit: As of May 2020, the poles are not there anymore.

This timeline can be found in the south of Therwil at the road to Ettingen, just after the last houses. It's a small area with grass and stones, but way too small to call it a park.

It's a row of iron poles with attached markers, the kind of poles you can find in every construction site. The markers all say in the bottom right: History Therwil. But it's not clear what municipal organization erected them.

The text on the markers:

1223: First documentation of the town name "Terwilre", property of the abbey Reichenau.

1267: The church St. Stephan is mentioned for the first time.

1518: The bishop of Basel acquires Therwil.

1525: The peasant wars: Uprising of the people of Therwil, they obtain citizenship of Basel.

1618-1648: Several lootings of town during the Thirty Years War.

1631: The church St. Stephan is rebuilt with paintings and a tabernacle from Spain.

1792-1815: Therwil is under French authority and becomes finally part of the canton of Basel.

1887: Opening of the Birsigtal railway.

Therwil: 306 meters above sea level.

There's one weird thing: In between these markers there is an arrow pointing the direction to the main station of Basel. It states it's two kilometers away, but this is wrong, it's at least seven kilometers from here.
