Hooiberg the dutch word for Haystack Mountain which it is also referred to as stands 541 feet above sea level. It's location in the almost center of the island with no other hills around makes it stand out on the island.

We climbed to the top of this mountain during our visit to Aruba, we were chasing a geocache, and we got to experience the best view of the island at the same time.
There are close to 600 steps leading up the mountain side, and it is a bit of a hike but well worth it for the view. There was a nice cool breeze to cool us down when we made it to the top, and coming down was a lot easier than going up.
Make sure to lock your vehicle as thieves will try and break in during your hike up to the top of the mountain.

It is a nice hike but don't do like we did and go at high noon. We didn't have time to change our schedule, but it still wasn't too bad.
