The Wetekamp Mausoleum is a notable example of Empire Cemetery architecture. The exceptionality of this construction is enhanced by the fact that the Empire style is much less common in the Czech Republic than say Baroque and this fact further highlights just how exceptional and rare this artefact is. The monumental tomb represented the high social status of Wetekamp family. It was built in 1898 by Wilhelm Wetekamp, the RothschiId's chief accountant, who financially supervised the construction of the adjacent Evangelic church and also contributed his own money to the project. The central part, made of smooth sandstone blocks, is decorated by a massive
entrance portico with an angeI’s head relief and wings on its top. The name of the family - FAMILIE WETEKAMP - is inscribed on the entablature. On the top of the bell-shaped roof is an allegorical statue with a laurel branch. The mausoleum, recorded in List of the immovable cultural monuments of the Czech Republic, is part of a former cemetery which was abolished in 1965.
