---------------------------------
The Swedish State Railways (SJ) B 1282 is one in a series of 99 identical steam locomotives manufactured between 1909 and 1919. Three Swedish builders shared the order, NOHAB, Motala Verkstad and Järnvägsverkstäderna i Falun. The locomotive was intended for freight trains and heavy passenger trains and served all over Sweden. The design was based on the Preussian P8 and is of the 2-6-0 type. It has a super heater of Wilhelm Schmidt's patent, weights 70 tons and was equipped with a three or four axle tender for the storage of water and coal. This B-engine, which is on display in Mora, was built by Motala Verkstad in 1916 as builders number 570. Several locomotives of this type are operational at museum railways in Sweden and abroad.
