[E] Since the 30s, the old church of the Loire was too small for some celebrations and too distant of the parishioners from north of the town. Upon his arrival in 1945, the priest Noël Barbier knows that another church should be built. Diocesan Association Touraine acquires the site "Portal Ormeaux" Fleurie Street to build a large church. The name of Saint Pie X was chosen by Bishop Gaillard. The plans for this contemporary building are established between 1962 and 1964. The building, which contains 742 seats, was erected in stripping crude concrete with glulam beams and slate steeple. The steeple houses two bells brought from ancient churches in Algeria.
[F] Depuis les années 30, la vieille église des bords de Loire était trop petite pour certaines célébrations et trop éloignée des paroissiens du nord de la commune. Dès son arrivée en 1945, le curé Noël Barbier sait qu'une autre église devra être construite. l'Association diocésaine de Touraine acquiert le site « Portail des Ormeaux », rue Fleurie, afin d'y construire une grande église. Le nom de Saint-Pie-X fut choisi par Mgr Gaillard. Les plans de ce bâtiment contemporain sont établis entre 1962 et 1964. L'édifice, qui contient 742 places, est érigé en béton brut de décoffrage avec une charpente en lamellé-collé et un clocher d'ardoise. Le clocher abrite deux cloches rapportées d'anciennes églises en Algérie.
