"Campo Santo Teutonico (officially Campo Santo dei Teutonici e dei Fiamminghi - written Cemetery of the Germans and Flemings, and Campo Santo Teutonico) are called the "German graveyard" and its buildings in Rome. By the Lateran Treaty of 1929, the site was an extra-territorial possession of the Holy See. The cemetery is not part of the Vatican City, but located on the Italian territory, however, is only accessible by Vatican territory.

In addition to the fully walled enclosed cemetery located on the site of the church of Santa Maria della Pietà, the seat of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Sorrows of the Germans and Flemings, the Pontifical College Collegio Teutonico di Santa Maria in Campo Santo and the Rome Institute of Gorres Society ,

Because of its historical roots of the term Teutonico includes not only the present Federal German with one but all who live in the historic German culture, including Austria, South Tyrol, German Swiss, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and German-speaking Belgians; Fiamminghi includes the Flemish and Dutch." - Source: Wikipedia
