This temple can be seen from US81. There is an ornate gate at the entrance. There have been festivals on the grounds that have various booths including food. These are locally advertised.

from brochure: "The Wat Lao Saamakhitham, Inc. was founded on October 1, 1995 at 2040 Route 11, Castle Creek, NY 13744 with a total of 31 acres of land as a Theravada Buddhist temple (Hinayana Sect) and registered as a non profit organization"
from website: "The laymen and laywomen are mainly Lao, Thai, Caucasians, Burmese, Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Indians ... from surrouding states such as PA, CT, NJ, MD, RI, MA, NC, and etc.."
They have events throughout the year. Services are in Laotian, but a translator helped a group of us visiting. Some of the festivals involve sharing food and donation of food.
